I am an associate professor of economics at Özyeğin University, School of Business, İstanbul. I am on leave for the 2022-2023 academic year, visiting the Department of Economics at Rice University. During the 2021-2022 academic year, I was a visiting professor at the Department of Economics at the Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa.

At Özyeğin, I've served as the chairperson for Department of Economics, vice director of the Graduate School of Business (GSB), academic director of MBA / Executive MBA Programs, and as a member in the Executive Board of the School of Business and the GSB. As the chairperson, I oversaw an update of the undergraduate curriculum, led AACSB accreditation efforts and faculty hiring. As vice director of GSB, I oversaw a major overhaul of MBA and Executive MBA programs, updated curricula, led AACSB accreditation efforts, served as an advisor to 80+ students, and started partnerships with the Harvard Business School.

I taught at the Department of Finance and Business Economics, Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California and at the Department of Economics, Herbert School of Business, University of Miami.

I worked as a consultant at the World Bank Group, Washington D.C., (within the Development Prospects Group's Global Macroeconomics Team) and visiting researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

I have a Ph.D. and M.A. in economics from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities; M.A. and B.A. in economics from Boğaziçi University, İstanbul. I hold a certificate in Advanced Leadership Skills from the Harvard Business School.
